Wonders of Peru at a glance
Wonders of Peru is a 13-day, 12-night Peru tour that travels overland from Lima through Paracas, Nazca, Arequipa, Colca and Puno to Cusco, with a Machu Picchu train day trip and a finish at Cusco airport. Price depends on hotel category. Send your dates on WhatsApp for a quote. Your arrival is at Lima’s Jorge Chávez airport, where a private pickup begins the journey.
The intercity route is overland, but the experiences are not limited to the road: your package includes the Ballestas boat trip, a Nazca Lines overflight and the train to Machu Picchu. Groups have a maximum of 16 travelers, and sightseeing is rated easy–moderate. Choose from five hotel categories or ask about a private upgrade. This is a Peru tour with Machu Picchu for travelers who want the southern journey as well as its famous finale.
Your Lima to Cusco itinerary ends in Cusco, not back in Lima. That distinction matters when choosing flights. If you are comparing Peru tour packages, start with the route and available days, then choose the hotel category that fits your plans.
Coast-to-Andes highlights: Nazca, Colca and Titicaca
The defining highlights are the Ballestas Islands boat trip, a Nazca Lines overflight, Colca Canyon and the Uros and Taquile islands of Lake Titicaca, followed by the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. This combination makes the journey broader than a Cusco-only holiday: the Pacific coast, desert geoglyphs and southern Andes are part of the core route.
Paracas introduces the coast before the boat excursion offers opportunities to see sea lions and birds. Nazca adds an aerial perspective through the included overflight, not simply a roadside stop. Arequipa brings a city tour and Santa Catalina Monastery between the coastal journey and the higher country around Colca.
The route passes through Chivay and the Condor’s Cross viewpoint before reaching Puno and Lake Titicaca, where the itinerary visits Uros and Taquile. Wildlife sightings are opportunities, not guarantees. In the Cusco region, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo and the Yucay living museum add context before the final archaeological highlight. Travelers interested mainly in that last region can compare our Sacred Valley tour with the broader package.
Your 13-day Peru itinerary, day by day

What is included and excluded?
The package includes 12 hotel nights, daily breakfast, listed lunches, airport transfers and all listed tours with guides. The Ballestas boat trip, Nazca overflight, train to Machu Picchu and Machu Picchu guided tour are also included. These are the core experiences of the journey, not optional upgrades added to an otherwise transport-only package.
International and domestic flights are excluded, alongside drinks, meals not listed, tips, travel insurance and early check-in or late check-out. The included Nazca sightseeing overflight is separate from the excluded flights you arrange to reach or leave the itinerary. Daily breakfast does not make this an all-inclusive meal plan. Confirm the day-by-day lunch allocation in your quote.
Review the proposed hotels, room arrangements and meal allocation in your written quote. The itinerary confirms a guided Machu Picchu visit and train travel from Ollantaytambo; check the quote for entrance-ticket and shuttle arrangements before booking. Our booking information can help you prepare your questions; request the applicable terms before payment.
Hotel categories, private upgrades and your quote
Price depends on hotel category. Send your dates on WhatsApp for a quote. Five hotel categories and a private upgrade are available. Include your traveler count and room needs so the quote addresses your actual party.
If you already know your preferred category, include it in your message. If not, ask to compare options and the proposed hotels. The category choice concerns the accommodation proposal; a private upgrade is a separate travel-style discussion. Ask what changes with that upgrade and what remains the same before choosing.
Choose duration before comparing accommodation. If thirteen days do not fit, look at the six-day Peru package or the nine-day Andean experience. These are alternatives to discuss, not shortened versions automatically substituted into this route. For this package, keep the five-category quote tied to the full 13-day journey.
Altitude, difficulty and the overland pace
This is easy–moderate sightseeing with gradual altitude gain, reaching a maximum of 4,900 m at Patapampa pass by vehicle rather than on a mandatory summit hike. The route begins on the coast before moving through Arequipa toward Colca, Puno and Cusco. That progression gives the trip a different rhythm from arriving directly in the highlands.
Gradual altitude gain does not guarantee protection from altitude illness. High elevations and successive road journeys still deserve preparation. Consider the combined demands of travel days, sightseeing and changing hotels rather than judging suitability only by the absence of a long trek. Discuss personal health concerns with a qualified clinician before travel.
Groups have a maximum of 16 travelers. Tell us about mobility needs and practical concerns when discussing whether this route suits your party. The highest point is reached by vehicle; the easy–moderate sightseeing rating does not remove the effects of high elevation.
Your Machu Picchu day trip by train
Day 12 includes the train from Ollantaytambo, a guided Machu Picchu visit and the return to Cusco. It is a day trip within the 13-day package, not an Inca Trail trek or an included overnight at Machu Picchu. The preceding Sacred Valley day and the following Cusco-airport departure make the return arrangement especially important when planning onward travel.
Confirm the entry circuit, train timetable and admission and shuttle arrangements in the written proposal. A guided visit does not imply an extra mountain hike or unrestricted time inside the site.
Ask us to confirm the train baggage allowance and arrangements for larger luggage before travel. If your holiday centers only on the archaeological site, compare the separate Machu Picchu day trip. For this longer journey, discuss mobility needs alongside the rest of the route.
Arrival, departure and practical preparation
Your trip starts with a private pickup at Lima’s Jorge Chávez airport and ends with a Cusco airport departure transfer. International and domestic flights are excluded. Confirm the pickup meeting instructions before travel.
Check the city on your onward ticket carefully. If your international flight leaves from Lima, arrange the necessary connection from Cusco separately and allow an appropriate buffer for your airline arrangements. Early check-in and late check-out are excluded, so review hotel access if your flights arrive early or depart late. Day 1 includes an afternoon at leisure, not an additional guided city excursion.
Tell us the ages of any children in your party, your room needs and practical requirements when requesting a quote. Review the applicable booking and change terms in writing before payment. Travel insurance is not included.
